This spot seems to be popular for take-away! The simple and straightforward environment makes for open spacing and comfortable seating. I ordered the lamb biryani, which I believe is the Pakistani version. It wasn't as salty as other regional variations, and surprisingly I actually enjoyed -- it had a more tame and balanced flavor. The portions of meat in the biryani were decent as well. I visited around mid-day and it wasn't crowded. The family running the front was friendly and welcoming. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking for Pakistani food in a low-key setting!

Tawakal is my favorite restaurant. Whether it's the biryani or different types of kebabs, the food delivers an authentic taste and balance of flavor and spice that takes me back to my travels in Pakistan. My favorite dish is the chicken tikka or tandoori, paired with Tawakal's warm, fresh-baked naan and spicy chutney. I highly recommend you try a few dishes and see for yourself!
The service? Incredible!!! You can tell they read the reviews and CARE. I ordered the nihari, he mentioned that usually it has so much oil because you can dip bread in it and its usually very preferred culturally to have lots in a dish, but he took some of it out in case i wasnt used to it. It was DELICIOUS. i think i might like it more than lamb vindaloo. Im still at this restaurant, it is indeed very bare bones inside, no music, mismatching chairs. But if youre someone who goes to eat for the FOOD, then please please please come here! Its delicious!
